How do I connect my Shopify store?
From your MerchantDesk portal, go to Tools → Shopify and click Connect. You'll be taken through Shopify's standard OAuth screen — approve access and your catalog starts syncing automatically, no code required.
How long does setup take?
Most merchants are live in under 5 minutes: connect your store, let the catalog sync, then add one script tag to your theme (or let the Shopify app do it automatically).
Do I need my own AI account to get started?
No — MerchantDesk includes a built-in default AI model so you can start immediately. You can connect your own Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini API key later from Settings whenever you want full control over model and cost.
How do I add the widget to my storefront?
The install flow adds a single script tag (with your unique widget key) to your theme automatically. You can also copy the tag manually from Widget Builder → Install if you manage your theme code directly.
